Jesus Came to Show Us A Better Way.

You are probably asking yourself, “What would make him write a title like that?” Before you get upset, hear me out.

First, let me say that I am a dedicated believer in Jesus, Buddha, and all the other great spiritual teachers throughout time, and my heart is filled with nothing but love.  But my views on their message is slightly different from what most religions teach.

I follow the teachings of many of the great spiritual leaders and try to apply their wisdom to my life in a way that makes me and the people I encounter better in one way or another.

Where I differ from popular opinion is that I do not worship these beings.  I admire and love them with all my heart but I know they don’t want to be worshipped —  instead they want us to follow their examples and their teachings. You see, they view us as part of them.  We need to do the same by viewing them as part of us.

I feel they are like more advanced big brothers that came here to show us an example of what we can become.

Jesus himself said,  “The kingdom of God is within you.”  I believe he meant that you are God and God is you. We are all one.

You see, God is everything, that means he is also in you and I.  We are all divine, even if we don’t realize it. Everything is divine.  The duality (Separate vs Oneness & Good vs Evil) of the world we live in often makes this a hard concept for us to grasp, but that polarity is there for a reason.  The hardships and challenges of life allow us to grow.  When we grow, all of life grows.

I remember when I first read the book, Conversations with God, about 10 years ago.  It was so different from anything I had ever heard that I didn’t know what to believe.  The basic premise of the book is that we are all God because God is everything.

This went directly against my religious upbringing that taught Jesus and God were perfect and that it would be blasphemous for any of us to think we could be like them.  Still, something about this resonated with me.  I had been searching for more and now I had found a clue.  I had to continue looking for answers.

This began an amazing personal journey to seek out the truth.  This journey turned into a spiritual awakening for me where over time my consciousness was raised to a different view-point.

This view-point is nothing unique to me. We all have the ability to attain it.  It’s an awareness that everything is all part of the same source.  We are all one. It’s an ability to see all the events of life from a higher perspective so you can see the purpose in them.  I also realized that we have the ability to influence this energy with our thoughts to create our future experiences (the law of attraction).

When I wrote my book, Awaken Your Power, I discussed how quantum physics supports this oneness claim by stating that everything is made of energy and this energy is connected. I feel this energy is the God force and we are part of it.

Coming back to the point of our spiritual leaders not intending for us to worship them, I would like to list the following citation which apparently was channelled by 7th dimensional beings of peace.

In the book, Keys to Soul Evolution, it states:

“by worshipping these (spiritual) leaders you are missing their point entirely and give your power of divinity away. This is the farthest thing from what they were sharing.  By judging any other beings as unholy, because they do not worship a certain elevated human being alone (Jesus or Buddha), is contradicting their messages. On the other hand, by practicing the consciousness they imparted, which always encompasses accepting and revering all as part of God, including oneself, you are assisting in the coming of the messiah of awareness.”

As you can see this quote supports the title of this blog. It is up to you to decide if you believe it or not.  I believe it and practice it in my own life.

Even though I said I don’t worship Jesus or Buddha, that doesn’t mean that I don’t pray to them or seek their guidance.  Nothing could be further from the truth. I know they are real and they are here to help.  I often ask for their help and I constantly see signs of their influence in my life.  They are great beings of love, and as I said earlier, I strive to be as much like them as I can.

At this point you may be asking yourself, “If that is the case, how do you know if you are worshipping, or talking and praying to Jesus?”  In my view, the real issue is not the definition of “worshipping”, “praying or talking to Jesus”, but rather it is in how you view yourself.

If you see yourself as a powerless being that is unworthy and unable to achieve divinity then you are coming from a powerless position.  But if you see yourself as a someone who is seeking to uncover and find your divinity through the assistance of Jesus then you are coming from an empowered position.

In summary, I follow Jesus and Buddha’s teachings and respect them with all my heart, but I also believe, at our soul level, we are just as divine as they are and we can follow in their footsteps to become just like them. They understand that we are all part of the whole.  They want us to become of aware of this fact and begin to raise our consciousness to see that everything in life, including the good and the bad, is part of us, too.

We can respect these spiritual leaders the most by following their teachings in our every day lives and giving out the same thoughts, words, and actions that we want to receive back in the people, situations, and events we experience.

So the next time you pray to Jesus ask him to help you to realize your own divinity.  I know he will.

What do you think of this post? Do you agree or disagree?  Please list your opinion but as always please respect the opinions of others.  This blog post is not meant to change anyone’s mind about what to believe. It is merely presenting another point of view for you to consider.

Happy Manifesting…

I could`nt agree with you more Joe. I too, believe Jesus and Budda and all the great saints that came before us, have been great examples of how great WE as humans can be. I believe that all of us are connected by one miraculous energy source which I believe to be god. We are all gods children, we are all part of the same energy source!

Glad to hear it, Liz. It’s great that the Internet allows those of us who align with the same beliefs to communicate with each other from anywhere in the world. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts that share your views on spirituality.

to be honest, I’m a Jewish person. I see Jesus as a good teacher and prophet but I strongly disagree that he is God. When Jesus said to follow him, he mean’t to follow his message and teachings. Not to worship him. And that is just what I’m doing even though I don’t worship him. In my opinion, God is indivisible and God is the one we should all put our trust into

Thanks Ethan for the comment. I totally respect your beliefs. My experience with Jesus is that that he is unconditional love. I have mentally asked him to come into my heart many times and have been overwhelmed with unexpected tears when his presence enters. To me, it doesn’t matter if we believe he is God or not, what is important is that we see the examples he and other great spiritual leaders have set and aquire them into our own lives. In my opinion, the greatest compliment we can give to God, Jesus, or whoever we worship, is to adapt their teachings into our lives to be the best we can be. Thanks for sparking up this conversations again. It is always great to talk spiritually-minded people like yourself.
